Tips on how to save on movie theater tickets

Do you love going to the movies, but do not love paying the premium ticket prices? Do you wish there was a way for you to see even more of the hottest new movies, without obliterating your budget? If so, read these tips on how to save on movie theater tickets!

- First, the most obvious tip: go to the theater at matinee times! Seeing movies on a weekday afternoon instead of Saturday night means you will save money, but you will also avoid large crowds and long lines.

- Do not pay for more services than you want to receive.
For example, do not go to a theater that offers 3D in some screens if you aren’t seeing a 3D movie. You will pay a higher ticket price if there are more options available at the theater, even if you don’t take advantage of those options.

- Check around your area for cheaper priced theaters.
If you are less interested in seeing movies as soon as they are released, and more interested in the overall experience of movie-going, consider a theater which only shows movies that have been out for a few weeks already. These cheaper theaters have the lowest prices possible – buying one of their tickets is often cheaper than renting a DVD! These types of theaters are most easily found in college towns and surrounding areas.
